Safety Factor is the industry standard requiring the FIBC to handle five or six times its Safe Working Load, (SWL), normally written as a ratio, “5:1 or 6:1 SF”.

Remarks: Single-Trip Bag (Bag designed for one trip only) must meet a SF of 5:1 whereas a Multi-Trip Bag must meet a SF of 6:1.

Multi-Trip Bulk Bags must also be reconditioned and thoroughly inspected for safety before they are reused.
